Learn how playing with your child can promote healthy cognitive and emotional development. Our playgroup includes songs, games and play that promote language acquisition, social/emotional skills, motor skills, and intellectual growth. Children ages 8 months to 4 years and their parents or caregivers are invited to come play! A certified child development specialist from The Parent Connection will be available to answer questions.

Poems of the Southwest - National Poetry Month

April is National Poetry Month and to celebrate. Come celebrate poems of the Southwest with Marc Goldfeder, a docent with University of Arizona Poetry Center.

Bring your favorite poem or your own poem of the Southwest to share. Poems from poets such as Alberto Rios (Arizona Poet Laureate), Edward Abbey, Ofelia Zepeda, N. Scott Momaday, Joy Harjo, Richard Shelton, Alison Hawthorne Deming, Lucille Clifton and Charles Wright might be heard.

Exploring Geometric Art

In the early years of the 20th century, many painters and sculptors adopted a totally new style; Geometric Abstraction. They used basic geometric shapes, bold lines and mainly primary colors to communicate artistic ideas and emotions.
