Free GED Preparation and Tutoring

At this drop-in session, get help from our tutors to get started preparing for the GED at your own pace. All classes are taught by Pima County Public Library tutors with Adult Education Certification, and will be taught in English. Students ages 16 and older can attend classes.

Please note that children cannot attend these classes. Parents must make their own child care arrangements for children under age 8.

Zoo to You

Presented by Reid Park Zoo.
Experience the wonder of the animal kingdom with live ambassadors from Reid Park Zoo. Discover what makes each animal special and how it survives in the wild. You may even have the opportunity to touch!

Free Parenting Class

Got kids? Do you ever wish that they came with an instruction booklet? Attend our six-session parenting class!

Skills for less parental stress: discipline that makes sense, child development and temperament, encouraging your child and yourself, understanding young child behaviors, building self-esteem, helping young children cooperate.

Stay and Play

Play is the natural activity of childhood. It is the way children learn about themselves, about others and about their world. Children ages 8 months to 4 years and their parents or caregivers are invited to come play! A certified child development specialist from The Parent Connection will be available for questions.

Family Storytime

Family Storytime is for all ages. It is an opportunity for parents to introduce their children to reading and language in a fun way.

Toddler Storytime

Designed for children 18- to 36-months-old. Parents/caregivers and children interact through stories, songs, and rhymes. Stories are kept short to fit the toddlers' short attention spans. Each Toddler storytime is 20 to 30 minutes long.

Babytime

Join us for songs, fingerplays, and a story. This program is designed for babies up to 18 months of age. At Storytime, children have an opportunity to do activities that promote development and learning.

One-On-One Computer and Job Search Help

Our computer instructor is available to answer questions you might have on a wide variety of computer topics. Topics include e-mail accounts, Internet browsing, e-readers, using the library website, resume building using WinWay, online job searching, and more.

Preschool Storytime

Join us for songs, stories and a craft! Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer period of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes long.

Creatures of the Night

Presented by Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
The desert is the place to be for lively night-life. From bats to kangaroo rats, meet the creatures that wake up once the sun has set.

All ages. Limited to 40 attendees.

Pastel Drawing

Presented by Young Rembrandts of Tucson.
Pastels are an amazing medium taught in this Young Rembrandts' step-by-step drawing class. We'll create an 11" x 17" can't-believe-I-drew-this masterpiece using soft pastel chalks. No experience is necessary
