How to Realize the Potential of Your Working Poor Tax Credit Campaign

Friday, February 21, 2014 8:30am - 4:00pm

This hands on all day workshop will give participants tools and knowledge to began to implement strategies to immediately increase their WPTC giving. Attendees will learn the building blocks of a successful appeal and how to put them together in their agency. Nonprofit consultants Lisa Glow and Nick Mork will lead this workshop and share their expertise and direct experiences from having conducted highly successful WPTC campaigns. Specific areas to be covered:

•Creating a functional campaign plan, including assessment, strategy development, time lines, measurable goals and an evaluation system for a year round campaign.
•Crafting effective messages for stakeholders and natural constituencies.
•Communicating successfully with target market segments.
•Engaging leaders from your board, staff, and volunteers.
•Developing collaborative fund raising opportunities.
•Integrating WPTC marketing into existing promotional efforts and activities, e.g. year end appeals, Arizona Gives Day, and more!
Skill Level: Beginner-Intermediate
A large portion of this class will be used to develop an individual giving plan for your organization. If you already have a well-established plan, you might not find the material as helpful.

Your Registration Includes 2-5 Attendees
Executive Directors, development and marketing staff all should attend. It is also encouraged to bring a member of the Board of Directors, if not for the entire day, for at least the afternoon session. A minimum of 2 people from your organization must attend the workshop, and a maximum of 5 may attend; this is important as the key to implementing an effective campaign is having a team of committed staff and leaders to carry the effort forward throughout the year.
