"Día is a celebration every day of children, and of linking them to books.... Its goals are to honor children, languages and cultures; to encourage reading and literacy; and to promote library collections and programs that reflect our plurality."
—Pat Mora Award-winning children's author
El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day) —"Día" for short— is a daily reminder of the importance of bringing children and books together. We observe Día in April when we celebrate literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
At Pima County Public Library, it is our mission to advocate for literacy and increase public appreciation of the many facets of our culturally diverse community.
Día at Your Library
Many Pima County Public Library branches and the Joel D. Valdez Main Library present programs and events highlighting Tucson's diverse ethnic populations and multicultural heritage.
