Introduction to Watercolor with the Drawing Studio

Take a leap into the world of watercolor painting in this 6-part series of classes from the Drawing Studio’s OATS program. Learn the basics of mark making with a brush, washes, and color mixing. Experiment, play, and express yourself.

Class size is limited, and registration is required prior to the first class. Please call 594-5420 beginning September 8 to register. Registration is for all 6 classes.

What Happens when High Art Marries Popular Culture? You Get Pop Art! Art Talk

Presented by UAMA Docent Frances Chen.
We'll trace the evolution of Pop Art from its inception as an art movement in the 1950s to its powerful influence as an important cultural movement as well. Who are some of the notable Pop artists we'll discuss? That would be David Hockney, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Wayne Thiebaud, and Andy Warhol among others.

The Realists: American Representational Art From the Collection of the University of Arizona Museum of Art.
Representational art consists of paintings that depict a recognizable thing or scene. This presentation includes landscapes, still lifes and genre paintings dating from the early to mid-20th Century.
