Computer Class-Basics to Email Series

Get familiar with a computer, manipulate the mouse, and use the keyboard. Explore the Windows operating system. Surf the World Wide Web, set up a free web mail, and learn how to type and send emails in the complete Basics series.

Free GED Classes - Preparation and Tutoring

All classes are taught by Pima County Public Library tutors with their Adult Education Certifications, and will be taught in English. Students ages 16 and older can attend classes, which are held three days a week. Please note that children cannot attend these classes. Parents must make their own child care arrangements for children under age 8.

Computer Class - Personalized Computer and Job Help

Our computer instructor is available to answer any questions you might have on a wide variety of computer topics. Topics can include resume writing, online job searching, email accounts, Internet searching and more.

Registration is required. Register online or call the Joel D. Valdez Main Library receptionist at 594-5500 weekdays 9am-5pm.

Presenter: The Parent Connection
Learn how playing with your child can promote healthy cognitive and emotional development. Our playgroup includes songs, games and play that promote language acquisition, social/emotional skills, motor skills, and intellectual growth. For children ages 8 months-3 years.

Stay and Play / Grupo de Juego

A play-based parenting group that gives parents the opportunity to learn through interaction how to promote positive cognitive and emotional development. Bilingual. Children ages 0-5 years.

Computer Class-Using Email/Clase de Computación - Utilizando Correo Electrónico

Learn how to set up a free electronic mail account on the web. Learn how to type and send emails, check your email and open attachments, attach your own files, and use your email to register at online sites. Mouse (pointing, clicking, and dragging) and keyboard experience or completion of the Computer Basics class required.

Preschool Storytime

Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer peroid of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes long.

Pima Council on Aging

An ambassador will be available to provide information and referral service on issues concerning older people, such as housing options, transportation, food, mental health, caregiving, social services and legal aid. One-on-one discussion with an ambassador is available on a first-come first-served basis.

Toddler Storytime

Designed for children 18- to 36-months-old. Parents/caregivers and children interact through stories, songs, and rhymes. Stories are kept short to fit the toddlers' short attention spans. Each Toddler Storytime is 20 to 30 minutes long.

Reading Partners

Reading Partners brings adult volunteers and children together to share their love of reading, Our trained volunteers would love to read to you, or have you read to them, in the Eckstrom-Columbus Branch Library Children's area on Mondays from 11:30 am-12:30 pm. Reading Partners is generously supported by the Friends of the Pima County Public Library.

Scrabble/Bridge Club

Join others for a friendly game of Scrabble or Bridge. Please bring your own game, if possible.
