Part 6 of 6. Students can attend the entire series but are also welcome to drop-in and with the help of our instructor can focus on the computer basics discussed at any point in this six-part series.

Free GED Classes - Preparation and Tutoring

All classes are taught by Pima County Public Library tutors with their Adult Education Certifications, and will be taught in English. Students ages 16 and older can attend classes, which are held three days a week. Please note that children cannot attend these classes. Parents must make their own child care arrangements for children under age 8.

Intermediate/ Advanced English Conversation Class

Practice your English conversation skills with trained, volunteer tutors from Literacy Volunteers of Tucson. This free class at the Valencia Branch Library begins Thursday, September 3, and meets Thursdays, from 9-11 am.

Registration is open only for the first two weeks. Call 594-5340 to register.

Parents please note that children cannot attend these classes. Parents must make their own childcare arrangements for children under the age of 8.

Great Literature of All Times

The Great Literature of All Times group is led by Dr. Bill Fry. We will read and discuss a different selection each month. Readings are available in the Catalog and at the information desk.

This month's discussion will be Gustave Flaubert's Madame Bovary.

Designed for children 18- to 36-months-old. Parents/caregivers and children interact through stories, songs, and rhymes. Stories are kept short to fit the toddlers' short attention spans. Each Toddler storytime is 20 to 30 minutes long.

Computer Class-Intermediate Personalized Internet and Computer Help

Learn more about the Internet or Office applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Work with an instructor to learn new skills. Prerequisite: Mouse and keyboard skills, or completion of Computer Basics class.

Computer Class-Drop in Computer Lab & Job Help

Library staff are available to answer any questions you might have on a wide variety of computer topics. Topics include resume writing, online job searching, email accounts, Internet searching and more. Signup is not required.

Stir the Soup Storytime

Children will listen to the story Stone Soup and then get a chance to make their own version of non-edible "soup" using different cut-out vegetables. Get moving and play a game of "Stir the Soup". Presented by Tucson Children's Museum.

This program will take the place of Preschool storytime

Preschool Storytime

Join us for songs, stories and a craft! Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer period of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes long.
