Reading Partners

Reading Partners brings adult and teen volunteers and children together to share their love of reading. Our trained Reading Partners take joy in reading stories one-on-one, or in small groups to your child during your visit to the library. They also welcome your child reading to them.

Reading Partners is generously supported by the Friends of the Pima County Public Library.

Presenter: The Parent Connection
Learn how playing with your child can promote healthy cognitive and emotional development. Our playgroup includes songs, games and play that promote language acquisition, social/emotional skills, motor skills, and intellectual growth.

Volunteer to become a Reading Coach through Reading Seed, a Tucson-based non-profit literacy group dedicated to helping children learn to read.

A living history presentation about Louise Marshall, the first female professor at the University of Arizona, entrepreneur and philanthropist, who shot her husband and got away with it. Read more about Marshall's trial in the Arizona Daily Star.

Bilingual Family Storytime-Hora de Cuentos

En la hora de cuentos los ninos tendran la oportunidad de realizar actividades que promueven el desarrollo y el aprendizaje. Se presenta en espanol y en ingles. Es una experiencia excelente en los dos idiomas para ninos bilingues y monolingues.

Bilingual Storytime is an excellent experience in both languages for monolingual and bilingual children.

Preschool Storytime

Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer period of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes long.
