This is a 6-week ongoing class. Students are welcome to drop-in at any point in the series.

Free GED Classes - Preparation and Tutoring

All classes are taught by Pima County Public Library tutors with their Adult Education Certifications, and will be taught in English. Students ages 16 and older can attend classes, which are held three days a week. Please note that children cannot attend these classes. Parents must make their own child care arrangements for children under age 8.

Meet a determined group of theoretical scientists and fine artists who have abandoned careers and scoffed at graduate degrees to forge new lives as modern-day paper folders. Together they reinterpret the world in paper, creating a wild mix of sensibilities towards art, science, creativity and meaning.

This one hour free screening will be followed by a folding demonstration and moderated discussion presented by M Craig of the Tucson Origami Club. Door prizes will be given to the first 10 people attending the screening. Intermediate/ Advanced English Conversation Class

Practice your English conversation skills with trained, volunteer tutors from Literacy Volunteers of Tucson. This free class at the Valencia Branch Library begins Thursday, September 3, and meets Thursdays, from 9-11 am.

Registration is open only for the first two weeks. Call 594-5340 to register.

Learn more about the Internet or Office applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Work with an instructor to learn new skills. Prerequisite: Mouse and keyboard skills, or completion of Computer Basics class.

Library staff are available to answer any questions you might have on a wide variety of computer topics. Topics include resume writing, online job searching, email accounts, Internet searching and more. Signup is not required.
