Edible Desert Plants and Mesquite Milling Demonstration

Find out how to harvest the mesquite pods in your own backyard and learn about the process of milling them into baking flour! A local expert will lead attendees on a walking tour of Martha Cooper Library’s edible landscape, explain the process of mesquite milling, give examples of the best pods you can harvest from your own trees and even share some recipes. Program and milling demonstration presented by Desert Harvesters.

CreateIT - Think IT. Make IT. Do IT. New technology and media classes for teens. Want to make the next big viral video or learn how to make a short film? Then join the CreateIT class this fall at Wheeler Taft Abbett, Sr. library to check out a variety of ways video is used to inform, entertain and persuade the public. You will have the opportunity to shoot and edit your own short videos and films with the help of career professionals!
