Awesome Air & Stomp Rockets

Through a short lecture/discussion, demonstration, and a fun stomp rocket activity, participants will learn about the air pollutants of concern in the Tucson area, where pollution comes from, how breathing air pollution may affect our health, and what we can do to keep the air and environment clean. Props such as healthy and simulated unhealthy pig's lungs may be used.

Read to a Dog

Children are invited to read to a Certified Therapy Dog. One of the favorite things for the dog to do is listen to children read lots of stories. Reading to a dog or other pet can help new and reluctant readers gain confidence, increase important reading skills, and develop a love of reading.

Squishy Circuits

Kids and teens are invited to join a team to make a unique Squishy Circuits Animal. Squishy Circuits are made with a special recipe of kitchen-made, pliable dough (developed at the University of St. Thomas), which becomes a conductor for LED lights and motors. These creations are both fun and educational to make!
