Introduction to the Internet

Demystify the Internet! Learn how to navigate the Internet and use e-mail to keep in touch with your friends and family. Not a lecture, this class is all hands-on learning with a high-speed Internet connection. You will open your own free e-mail account to send and receive e-mail with friends and relatives.

Before taking this course, you should know basic computer skills like how to use a mouse and keyboard, and how to turn the computer on and off.

Stay and Play

Play is the natural activity of childhood. It is the way children learn about themselves, about others and about their world. Children ages 8 months to 4 years and their parents or caregivers are invited to come play! A certified child development specialist from The Parent Connection will be available for questions.

Food Stamp Application Assistance

Let an employee from the Community Food Bank help you apply for SNAP (“food stamps” or the government nutrition assistance program), AHCCCS (health care) and TANF (cash assistance). To find out what documents that you will need, please call the Community Food Bank at 520-622-0525 extension 275.

Toddler Storytime

Designed for children 18- to 36-months-old. Parents/caregivers and children interact through stories, songs, and rhymes. Stories are kept short to fit the toddlers' short attention spans. Each Toddler storytime is 20 to 30 minutes long.

Basic Email

Set up a free electronic webmail account and type and send email. Mouse and keyboard skills or completion of the Get Started with the Computer class required.

Geology of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

Robert Garza, an interpreter at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, discusses the geologic evolution of the present landscape of Organ Pipe. This interactive presentation will give the audience the opportunity to better understand how the landscape formed and will address the question: "What is the role of the rocks in the desert?"

Preschool Storytime

Come join us for stories, songs and fun! Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer period of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes.

Computer Basics

Become comfortable with a computer. Learn basic terms, how to manipulate a mouse, and use the keyboard. Explore the Windows operating system, start programs, and use buttons and scrollbars to navigate around programs.

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is a software program for creating and showing presentations that include slides, outlines, speaker's notes and audience handouts. In this course designed for beginners, you will learn the fundamentals of PowerPoint. Practice using text, pictures and clip art, and then edit your presentation to make it look professional.
General knowledge of the Windows operating system and some knowledge of Microsoft Word are recommended prerequisites.

The computer lab at Santa Rosa Library is available for job and computer help. If you have any computer questions or need assistance conducting an internet job search, writting a resume, cover letter, or need a place to fill out online applications our computer lab is available.

One-on-One Help

At this drop-in session for all ages, get one-on-one assistance with a wide range of questions, including topics such as Job Help, eReaders, computers, and using the library's online resources, all at your own pace!
