Digital Download Help Session

Discover the free downloads offered by your library! This class will help you find the information you need to download free e-books, audiobooks and videos to your e-reader or tablet.

Please bring: your device, your Amazon (Kindle users), your Barnes and Noble (Nook users) or Apple account information account information, and your library card and pin. (You will also need your email address and password to set up an Adobe ID.)

This class is limited to six participants. Please call 594-5345 to register. Registration begins January 14, 2013.

Introduction to Excel

This course teaches Microsoft Excel basics. Excel is a spreadsheet program that helps you manage mathematical information. It is frequently used in today’s workplace. For example, you can use Excel to budget your personal finances and keep track of your investments. You can also use Excel to follow loan repayments, compare different mortgages, generate invoices, and more.
Prior experience with the computer and an understanding of the Windows operating system is recommended.

Introduction to Computers

In this fun, hands-on course you will learn all the basic computer skills including using the mouse and keyboard, working in Microsoft Windows, using Microsoft Word, surfing the Internet and using Email. This course is ideal for someone who has a little experience with the computer but wants to know more.
Note: If you have never touched a computer or keyboard before, you may benefit from attending our Meet the Computer course prior to Introduction to Computers.

In this course you will learn valuable word processing skills like creating, saving and retrieving documents; inserting and deleting text; formatting text; and using cut, copy and paste. Before you take this course, you should have some experience with the computer and the Windows operating system.

Grants Databases Open Lab

This is an opportunity for volunteers, staff and board members of nonprofit and community organizations to research private grantmakers on the Foundation Directory Online and the Arizona Guide to Grants databases with a librarian present to give hints and tips on how to maximize search results.
