Read to a Dog
Children are invited to read to a Certified Therapy Dog. One of the favorite things for the dog to do is listen to children read lots of stories. Reading to a dog or other pet can help new and reluctant readers gain confidence, increase important reading skills, and develop a love of reading.

The Author Talks
The Joel D. Valdez Main Library invites authors to come and talk about their books. We host a variety of exciting authors and topics. Listen, ask questions, and meet the author. The program is free and parking is free on Saturdays.

Come hear local author Lili DeBarbieri's colorful presentation on her recently published book A Guide to Southern Arizona's Historic Farms and Ranches: Rustic Southwest Retreats. Lili will share historical trivia related to the region's early ranching and farming days as well as insider travel tips for planning the best country getaways and staycations in the Southwest that won't break the bank! A wonderful event to kick back, relax and be entertained by tantalizing tales of old hollywood and the romance of the West with film snippets and memorable stills.
