Now Showing at Your Library!
A free monthly screening series, currently showing Community Cinema films from the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Independent Lens and PBS' P.O.V. award-winning independent non-fiction films. This series of popular PBS films is made possible through a partnership with Arizona Public Media.
Today's Now Showing at your Library film:
Here’s your chance to watch and discuss the film Between the Folds by Vanessa Gould at a Community Cinema screening event.
Think origami is just paper planes and cranes? Meet a determined group of theoretical scientists and fine artists who have abandoned careers and scoffed at graduate degrees to forge new lives as modern-day paper folders. Together they reinterpret the world in paper, creating a wild mix of sensibilities towards art, science, creativity and meaning.
Get a sneak peek of Between the Folds on YouTube.
Additional information:
This one hour free screening will be followed by a folding demonstration and moderated discussion presented by M Craig of the Tucson Origami Club. Door prizes will be given to the first 10 people attending the screening. This event is in partnership with Arizona Public Media and Community Cinema which features films from the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Independent Lens. For more information call 791-4010.
