Dia de los Muertos: Decorate Sugar Skulls
Come celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Decorate a calavera (sugar skull). This program commemorates the ancient holiday tradition of the Day of the Dead. Dia de los Muertos began in Aztec times and continues today throughout the southwestern United States. In remembrance of departed family members and friends, participants decorate and keep sugar skulls, which are made of sugar, merengue powder and water. All ages welcome!
This program is part of Nuestras Raíces: a celebration of Mexican-American authors, arts and culture.
