The Facebook Starter Kit

Facebook is the most popular social networking website in the world, with over 350 million active users. It’s a great way to stay in touch with family and friends. In this course, you will learn all about Facebook, become a member of this free website and post messages and photos online. After this course, you will be able to continue making friends and using Facebook on your own.

Stay and Play

Learn how playing with your child can promote healthy cognitive and emotional development. Our playgroup includes songs, games and play that promote language acquisition, social/emotional skills, motor skills, and intellectual growth. Children ages 8 months to 4 years and their parents or caregivers are invited to come play! A certified child development specialist from The Parent Connection will be available to answer questions.

Behind the Scenes: Computer Programming

Ever wonder how the software we use every day is created? Using the Python programming language, this class will explain the basic concepts of computer software and programming. Sign up at the Nanini Branch Library Information Desk. For ages 12 and up.

Attention Summer Reading Passport holders! Drop in to the Click Club to fulfill some of the activities on the list of 100 or just drop in for fun. You’ll learn to take a virtual tour of a museum, download a song on Freegal, or discover an online story.
Drop in times are every Friday 10am-12noon beginning June 8, and every Tuesday 1-3pm beginning June 12.

Bottle Cap Jewelry

Create earrings, a necklace pendant, or keychain. Add glass beads and digitals images to crafting bottle caps for a fun gift or keep for yourself. limit 15. Registration is required.

Toddler Storytime

Toddler Storytime is for children 18- to 36-months-old. Parents and children interact through stories, songs, and rhymes. Stories are kept short to fit toddlers' attention spans. Each program is 20 to 30 minutes.

Advanced English Language Conversation Class / Clases de Conversación de Inglés avanzadas

Practice your English conversation skills with trained, volunteer tutors from Literacy Volunteers of Tucson. Classes may include some reading and writing to stimulate discussion. Call 594-5365 to inquire.
Parents please note that children cannot attend these classes. Parents must make their own childcare arrangements for children under the age of 8.

iTNation: Introduction to Video Editing

Use digital cameras to record a short video and learn to use basic editing software to polish your video clip. Share your finished product online! Mouse skills (pointing, clicking, and dragging) and keyboard experience or completion of the Computer Basics class is required.

Nanini Branch Library invites you to come read to a dog! Certified therapy dogs love to come to the library to listen to young readers.

Reading to a dog gives children a chance to improve their reading skills in a relaxed, comfortable environment with a non-judgmental listener.
