Health & Wellness
Weight Loss: Manage your weight, improve your health
Did you make a New Year’s Resolution to lose weight? You are not alone! According to Gallup research:
- 56% of Americans want to lose weight
- the average amount of weight Americans want to shed is 16lb.
- a third of Americans are considered obese
- obesity is a national epidemic
The presenter, an M.D., non-surgically lost 100lb. over a year’s time beginning August 20, 2011. She used no special foods, medicines or weight loss products. She did use a certain exercise routine and a certain set of rules about food consumption, which she will share with the audience. But the presenter also found that, to lose significant weight, she needed to adopt a philosophy of weight loss. She found tips that helped her to stick to her principles every day.
If you are interested in losing weight, or are supporting the weight-loss success of someone close to you, and surgery is not part of the plan, you are invited to listen as one successful dieter and medical doctor shares her story.

Grants
Policies Every Nonprofit Organization Should Consider Having
When we think of nonprofit policies, we generally think of financial policies. Those are important! But in this session we will also examine other kinds of organizational policies that can help drive an organization to its next level of performance: those pertaining to programs, fundraising, marketing, staff development, volunteers, and board organization. A topic for nonprofit managers and board members!
Presented by Clyde Kunz. With more than 23 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Clyde Kunz has worked with many nonprofit organizations in organizational development and fundraising capacities. He also teaches Board Governance and Resource Development for the Nonprofit Management Institute at the ASU Lodestar Center. Mr. Kunz has been actively involved in professional organizations and has served on several nonprofit boards. Currently, he serves on the boards of directors of two private foundations, one local and one national.
