UAMA Art Lectures at the Library

Join us for a series of art lectures (with visuals) presented by docents of the University of Arizona Museum of Art and Archive of Visual Art (UAMA), in partnership with Pima County Public Library.

"The Art of Collecting," presented by Johanna Stein.

Investigate the acquisition of works of art by individuals for their own private enjoyment and by museums for public enjoyment and education. See examples of large bequests and individual gifts, trace their journeys, and discuss how and why pieces of art evolve and are chosen by collectors and enjoyed by the public.

Pastel Drawing

Presented by Young Rembrandts of Tucson.
Pastels are an amazing medium taught in this Young Rembrandts' step-by-step drawing class. We'll create an 11" x 17" can't-believe-I-drew-this masterpiece using soft pastel chalks. No experience is necessary.

All Souls Procession Kick-off

Help us celebrate a wonderful community event, the 2013 All Souls Procession, as we add the final touches to our float. Enjoy face painting, DIY calavera (skeleton) makeup and more from 1 to 3 pm, and then join us at 5 pm to walk in the procession.

We will have maps available so you know where we will be gathering--we plan on joining the procession at 101 N. Stone Ave @ 5pm.
