Call to Artists

The Pima County Public Library announces a Call to Artists for the 2014-2015 juried exhibit season.

Selected artists will install a month-long show in the gallery at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library, which enjoys over 40,000 visitors each month. The space is incredibly visible to a vibrant downtown community consisting of residents, students, business people, and government workers from all over the county. Artists will also be included in a roster sent to other branch locations that have exhibit space.

Submissions will be accepted September 1-15, 2013. To enter, please see the Call to Artists information here.

Art Reception - Victor Garcia

Victor Garcia is a Tohono O'odham (people of the desert) and a self taught artist. He began sketching when he was 13 and diversified to an array of mediums, most currently, digital. He says his art is a reflection of himself, and his works often incorporate Tohono themes portrayed in modern terms, including the use of Animae-type figures.
