Healthy Living: Managing Ongoing Health Conditions

Developed by Stanford University, this free workshop teaches adults and caregivers to live successfully with on-going health conditions such as diabetes, cancer, heart and lung disease, arthritis, and hypertension.

The workshop teaches management skills through interaction, goal-setting, and action planning.

The workshop consists of 6 sessions, meeting once a week for 2.5 hours. The program is administered by the Pima County Health Department. Space is limited, and registration is required prior to the first session. Participants are expected to attend every meeting.

Deterring Diabetes

Presented by the Wellness Council of Arizona.

Everyone is at risk of developing diabetes, but most people can avoid it through lifestyle and self-care.

Learn how physical activity, nutrition and taking better care of ourselves can aid in creating resistance and fortifying our body's ability to better live with or avoid diabetes. Take the test "Are you at risk for Diabetes?", answer seven easy questions which will help you determine whether you should seek medical diagnosis.
