We are designating a Quiet Zone for those customers who would like an area where they can have a peaceful place for study, contemplation, reflection, productive thinking or to just read, with minimal disturbances.

Preschool Storytime

Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer period of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes long.

Babytime

Babytime is designed for babies up to 18 months of age. At Storytime, children have an opportunity to do activities that promote development and learning.

Get a head start on the weekend! Join friends to play Wii Sports, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., Guitar Hero, and other fun games on our big-screen projector. All ages welcome!

Read to a Dog

Hey kids! Read to one of the dogs and have fun while improving your reading skills! Therapy dogs love to have books read to them. They never criticize your reading skills and will often lick your hand to show appreciation. They just love to be read to by children.

Nanini Branch Library invites you to come read to a dog! Certified therapy dogs love to come to the library to listen to young readers.

Reading to a dog gives children a chance to improve their reading skills in a relaxed, comfortable environment with a non-judgmental listener.

Lego Club

Hey kids, do you love building things with Legos? If you do, join our Lego Club at the Kirk-Bear Canyon Library. We supply the Legos and you supply the imagination.

The Lego Club is open for all ages. No registration is required.

Homework Help

Free tutoring is available on site for all ages. Subjects include math, science, social studies and writing.

Also available: Connect to online Homework Help (2–11 pm every day except major holidays).

Reading Partners

Reading Partners brings adult volunteers and children together to share their love of reading. Our trained Reading Partners take joy in reading stories one-on-one to your child during your visit to the library. They also welcome your child reading to them.
