Sensory Friendly Storytime

Sensory Friendly Storytimes are designed for children ages 10 and under who have a hard time in large groups, are on the autism spectrum, or are sensitive to sensory overload. Our librarians will use preschool-level books, songs and movement during storytimes. All are welcome.

Joyner-Green Valley Library in partnership with Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation present a series of historical talks.

Borderlands Felids. Arizona Game and Fish Department Watchable Wildlife Program Manager Randy Babb discusses Arizona's two spotted cats, the jaguar and ocelot. This program includes the history, biology, and ecology of these two controversial animals and conservation measures needed to secure their future in the U.S. borderlands.

Bighorn Sheep Reintroduction in the Santa Catalina Mountains. Join Arizona Game and Fish Department Wildlife Manager Joe Sacco for an overview and history of Desert Bighorn Sheep in Arizona and their reintroduction into the Santa Catalina Mountains. This presentation discusses logistics and problems in repatriating sheep to historic habitats near Tucson and describes the goals the program hopes to achieve.
