Students’ Stories Come Alive on Stage

The Pima County Public Library always has great stories to tell.

In response to the White House ConnectED Library Challenge, we created a partnership with the Tucson Unified School District to help students boost their learning and academic success. We distributed 32,000 library card applications to students, we trained TUSD staff about free library tools and resources, and students were invited to write and submit their own stories about libraries and library cards that Stories That Soar! would later perform on stage.

On October 22, we co-hosted a special event with TUSD at the Wakefield Family Resource Center, and over 200 parents and students showed up.

Several students saw their stories come to life on stage with amazing performances by Stories That Soar!, and Library and TUSD staff were on hand to talk one-on-one with parents and kids.

Now, we'll let the performances from the Love of Libraries Show tell the rest of the story.
