All Bears, All The Time

You know what time it is? It's time for BEARCAM! The sockeye salmon run at Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska is going on now. Don't miss this! Where there are thousands and thousands of fish, there are lots of bears.

Explore.org has hosted a live bearcam for four years now, and I am confident that this is going to be one of your new favorite websites. It's hard to resist checking in...how many are there right now? What are they doing? And then you just keep watching...the water is flowing, the fish are jumping, and the bears are eating. There's belly flopping and sometimes a little fighting. Did I say that there are bear cubs? Yes. Later this summer, you can visit Katmai's Facebook page and vote for your favorite fat bear (#fatbeartuesday).

And you can do all of this from the safety and comfort of your living room.

PCPL also has some great bear books, here are a few we like!
