Released: 01-07-13

Drop-in on a ReadStrong session to Level Up your reading skills. Students in grades 4-12 and adults are welcome to attend these free sessions where the focus is on improving reading skills and reading for fun. Each session will be facilitated by a specially-trained tutor who will help developing readers to build confidence and get motivated all while in a relaxed setting.
There are many reasons to Level Up your reading; whether you're a student wanting to improve your grades, a job seeker looking to improve your skills or a caregiver looking forward to reading with others, ReadStrong will help you achieve a higher level of reading.
ReadStrong reading tutors are trained by Literacy Connects to use a strength-based approach. Participants will have the opportunity to Level Up their reading using a combination of reading software (Achieve3000), high interest/low vocabulary books and variable speed audio books with accompanying text. The Achieve3000 software is web-based and once a student has an account they can access it 24/7 from any computer with an internet connection.
Please note that children cannot attend these sessions. Child care is not available in the library. Parents must make their own child care arrangements for children under age 8.
