Library News

Free GED Classes - Preparation and Tutoring

Released: 10-19-08

Get GED help from our tutors and prepare to take the GED by attending our GED Preparation and Tutoring Sessions at Martha Cooper, Miller-Golf Links, Sam Lena-South Tucson, Valencia, Wheeler Taft Abbett, or Woods Memorial branch libraries.

Fall Sessions will run until Wednesday, December 16, 2009, and there will be no classes on November 11 or November 26. 

All classes are taught by Pima County Public Library tutors who have Adult Education Certifications, and will be taught in English. Classes are held three days a week.

Please note that children cannot attend these classes. Parents must make their own child care arrangements for children under age 8.

Martha Cooper Branch Library - Sep 9 - Dec 16

  • Mondays, 9 am -12 pm
  • Wednesdays, 9 am - 12 pm
  • Thursdays, 9 am - 12 pm

Miller-Golf Links Branch Library - Oct 19 - Dec 15

  • Mondays, 1-4 pm
  • Tuesdays, 1-4 pm
  • Saturdays, 1-4 pm

Sam Lena-South Tucson Branch Library - Nov 10 - Dec 16

  • Tuesdays, 3-6 pm
  • Wednesdays, 3-6 pm
  • Thursdays, 3-6 pm

Take a practice test, and get immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and an individualized analysis of your results to help you get ready. There are even practice courses to help you improve your mathematics, science, writing, and language arts scores.
 
Skills Tutor
Take content-area pre- and post-tests modeled on standardized tests. Test questions are in a multiple-choice format. You will have the opportunity to review missed questions after each test. Feedback is also provided.
