Drawing Contest for Young Artists

Released: 11-05-09

Jeremy Jackrabbit has an important story to tell... and we're looking for young artists to draw his story.

Drawing Contest for Young Artists

Pima County Public Library is holding a drawing contest to collect illustrations for a picture book about water harvesting to be published by Tucson City Councilman Rodney Glassman and Sasha Borsand.

Several drawings will be selected for the book which features the character Jeremy Jackrabbit.

You will base your drawings on text from the book.

Guidelines

An Entry Form and Release Form must be filled out attached to each entry.

Artists up to 17 years old may enter.

Artists will draw illustrations to match a part of the story assigned to their grade level. View text of book (PDF, text is still in draft form).

Each artist may enter two drawing samples based on the story of Jeremy Jackrabbit.

Illustrations can be of any medium: pencil, crayons, markers, etc., but no entry should be larger than 11” x 17”. Entries may be in color or black and white.

How to Enter

Entries can be turned in at any branch library.

Include an Entry Form and a Release Form for each illustration you bring to the library.

Please make sure the librarian puts your illustration in the special envelope.

Entries must be received by Friday, November 20, 2009 at 5 pm.
