Send your name and address to Friends of the Green Valley Library, PO Box 43, Green Valley, Arizona 85622. Annual memberships are $15, $25, $50, $100, with the Life Membership $500.

About Us

The Friends of the Green Valley Library is an active organization which runs a used bookstore inside the library six days a week. The Friends' Quarterly Newsletter reaches several thousand Green Valleyans and has been instrumental in gathering funds for enhancing the building's facade, as well as encouraging community donations for library items not covered by the Library budget.

The Friends sponsor many projects including:

  • Tucson Symphony Preview programs, monthly from October through April, which host music professionals/educators who lead discussions about the Symphony's Classical Concert Series.
  • Weekly Focus on Art discussions about various artists, led by Tucson Museum of Art docents, from October through March.
  • School of Information and Library Science Scholarships for graduate students at the University of Arizona.
  • The purchase of twenty computers for the Computer Lab.
  • The Green Valley History Project with a Local History Collection.
  • Adult Teller of Tales storytelling events.
  • Enhancement of the Children's Section with a Bob Vann mural of animals of the southwest.
  • The Youth Summer Reading Program.
  • The Friends' Annual Meeting which hosts southern Arizona authors during the January meeting.

Bookstore

The Friends of the Green Valley Library run a used bookstore inside the library six days a week. Over $25,000 is raised annually to assist in many ways. Although some books may run over $5.00, the majority of purchases are under $1! Donations of used books are always welcome.
